We have a few ideas that would help get the media and public attention.  Our biggest problem is the lack of public knowledge about this mine.  9 out of 10 people are unaware that the mine is being proposed or think that the mine has already been approved.  This mine has not been approved! 

1.    We would like to get local motorcycle groups to organize a save the Santa Rita's ride through Scenic Highway 83.  It would really be excellent if we could get the media to cover it.  It'd be cool if we could get hundreds of bikes.  Besides its a beautiful ride.

2.  Would someone be interested in organizing a community pot luck open to everybody.  We could hold it near the Rosemont Ranch so the public can become even more familiar with the area that will be destroyed.

3. Write opinion articles to local papers.  Augusta Resources is spending tremendous amounts of money to promote this mine.   Organizations like ours don't have the resources.  But if the public spends the time we don't need the money.

4. Attend any local event and pass out information about the mine.  Most people are not aware of the mine or think it is already approved.  It is NOT approved and is in the public comment period.

5. Let the politicians know we want this mine stopped and this area preserved for the future generations enjoyment.  They are beginning to listen.  The more letters the more they know it is an issue.  Most of them haven't commented one way or another.  Its time to let them know that it is important and critical that they listen, and they respond NOW.
